On Social Wellness
People will be my top priority in 2025.
Next year, I want to be intentional about my social connections—not just making time for people, but finding ways to integrate those connections into other parts of my life.
In my previous post (link here: https://lnkd.in/gc-adsMF) I shared my commitments for 2025 with the LinkedIn community… and that includes relationships, which are a huge part of what keeps us grounded, growing, and energized.
Next year I want to prioritize them with purpose.
What’s driving these commitments?
Intersecting commitments - I’m a big fan of overlap. Running with my 29029 network, for example, ticks both physical and social boxes. Engaging more with posts and posters that resonate with me? That’s mental and social growth rolled into one.
Reciprocity - Good relationships are a two-way street, but being intentional matters. I want to be more planful about who I show up for, ensuring I can commit the time and energy to make those connections meaningful. At the same time, I’ll remind myself to lean on others when I need support.
Be intentional about expanding - While deepening existing connections is a focus, I also want to intentionally meet new people who inspire and challenge me. Not just networking for the sake of it—but real, meaningful connections.
Jake’s Strategy - My son Jake keeps a list of people to call when he’s in the car. It’s simple and effective, and I’m stealing the idea to make staying in touch more natural.
My 2025 Commitments:
Run more with my 29029 crew and prioritize group activities that connect fitness and friendships.
Dedicate time each week to connect intentionally, whether it’s a quick message, a Zoom call, or a coffee/happy hour.
Keep a “car call” list to check in with people while on the go.
Engage more with posts and conversations online that resonate with me.
Be intentional about building new connections with people who inspire me.
Relationships are central to wellness—they’re where life happens.
This year, I’m all in on making those connections stronger, more meaningful, and fully integrated into my life.
