Ever Heard of a Ski-Treat

(one of the participants just shared the name "Ski-Treat" instead of "retreat")

What do you call three days of morning (bluebird day) skiing combined with afternoon/evening working with incredible people?

An awesome leadership retreat!

I recently had the opportunity to guide one of my client’s leadership teams through finalizing their 2025 strategic plan and exploring ways to elevate their organizational health. The mornings were spent on the slopes (with some intentional coffee breaks built in), while the afternoons focused on leadership coaching, mentoring, and strategic conversations.

Here are a few key takeaways from this experience:

  • Recreation + work = amazing. There’s something powerful about combining physical activity and play with thoughtful business planning—it sharpens minds, fuels creativity, and fosters vulnerability, which deepens trust across the team.

  • Inspiration and empowerment lead to greatness. When leaders feel aligned and energized, they unlock a new level of collaboration and possibility. I was inspired to hear this team’s renewed commitment to empowering their people in 2025.

  • Gratitude fuels everything. I’m incredibly grateful for opportunities to work alongside amazing leaders, learn from their insights, and contribute to their growth.

Here’s to more work that doesn’t feel like "work" and to creating opportunities that push us forward, both inside and outside the office.

Have you ever combined adventure and leadership work? I’d love to hear your stories.
